Adam Lambert graces the cover of Rolling Stone magazine and shares the news that comes as no surprise to any of his fans…the fact that he is gay. The runner-up to Kris Allen on the the latest run of American Idol admits, “I’m proud of my sexuality, I embrace it.”
Lambert acknowledges the fact that he was nervous about coming out while Idol was still on the air, and decided that he wanted to do it on his own terms. He said, “I was worried that coming out would be so sensationalized that it would overshawdow what I was there to do, which was sing. I’m an entertainer, and who I am and what I do in my personal life is a separate thing, it shouldn’t matter. Except it does. It’s really confusing.”
The rocker participated in a frank interview that will appear in the upcoming issue - which hits newsstands on Wednesday, June 10. We’ve included another photo of Lambert from his appearance on Saturday at the 11th Annual ‘Young Hollywood’ event.
